Golf & ALS TDI
ALS TDI Golf was inspired in large part, by the passion and determination of Tom Watson and Bruce Edwards to find a cure for
ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). After Bruce was diagnosed, they used the stage of the PGA TOUR to raise awareness which galvanized
a movement of support in the golf community towards helping those suffering from ALS. Since 2001, more than 300 events have
combined to raise nearly $9 million for research at the world's leading ALS research center. ALS TDI Golf, a program created
by the ALS Therapy Development Institute, is committed to supporting events and using the game of golf to fund research toward
effective treatments for today's patients.
The program strives to provide the most comprehensive event management toolkit possible, including dedicated support, access
to industry partners and vendors, and specialized auction and contest materials. This program has been created to ensure that
the greatest amount of every donation made at your golf event goes towards what matters most - research into finding a cure. Because
we have focused on leveraging our brand in order to reduce costs, more than 87 cents of every dollar donated to ALS TDI goes into
the lab today. This makes ALS TDI Golf one of the most efficient fundraising programs in the world!
The Institute works with dozens of families and social organizations each year to execute charity golf events ranging from single
day "closest to the pin" contests to multi-flight golf tournaments. Our experienced staff will work with you to identify
the right approach to channeling your passion for the game of golf into a fundraising activity that supports ALS research.
